Things that keep me from my needlework! ...Doctor appointments! As we're getting older I find there are more and more of them! Laundry! Where does it all come from! Housework in general! I haven't seen that "house fairy" in months. No! Years! Trips to the pharmacy to pick up another prescription! "Stuff" that has to be done, and it's up to me alone to do them! I would much rather be in my stitching chair with my fingers working with beautiful colored threads and yarns! </p><p> Okay! So now that I got that out of my system! Let me show you the beautiful colors that we'll be working with starting next Saturday! I've show you the piece, but for anyone who missed it, here it is below.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9WB5OU_mgmCQ-LTor1-icgVx7DnZSs-8e5-7MbNQb-_Uu8aJL7YDvBRpDe06GUeBH_5VCDiSEAChIn4fL6iqfpZrp7ESkrU5ELo7E0eoS7BwLl5WIJ46k36NPDoPOE3qqaTqc0zObNmF9a8O5WQBqOnGBfLgQhoWx56dIQmebobH7zOOmGMbzW7KuNgc/s400/happy%20stitching.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="326" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9WB5OU_mgmCQ-LTor1-icgVx7DnZSs-8e5-7MbNQb-_Uu8aJL7YDvBRpDe06GUeBH_5VCDiSEAChIn4fL6iqfpZrp7ESkrU5ELo7E0eoS7BwLl5WIJ46k36NPDoPOE3qqaTqc0zObNmF9a8O5WQBqOnGBfLgQhoWx56dIQmebobH7zOOmGMbzW7KuNgc/s320/happy%20stitching.jpg" width="261" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p>Now here are those colors! Aren't they warm and homey! Oh how pretty. Remember that if you would like to be part of this "Stitch and Send" project, join up with LindaLee's Cross SAL on Facebook. It should be fun.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3GTRyBK4FcZ2FW12QlVKdvHoPb5zt2FzEYbIZisFhNivhWh8tgXbj6DxSECvbFbzNbJ5COUaq5Xhfnfe3u1dTJFz9jZSN86pN2HbZg3OApnzm_Wc8FFwh1Nw3coh___ltdSQaeKmOUm5JwlNKsV4gnU7Glk5BMHIczeNO6q-NF1jSTCCbHHeVGO6wX9Y/s4032/IMG_1488.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3GTRyBK4FcZ2FW12QlVKdvHoPb5zt2FzEYbIZisFhNivhWh8tgXbj6DxSECvbFbzNbJ5COUaq5Xhfnfe3u1dTJFz9jZSN86pN2HbZg3OApnzm_Wc8FFwh1Nw3coh___ltdSQaeKmOUm5JwlNKsV4gnU7Glk5BMHIczeNO6q-NF1jSTCCbHHeVGO6wX9Y/s320/IMG_1488.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p> Bill had an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon this morning, and the good news was that she feels all will heal on its own with therapy, but could take up to six months. So no problem. The fall could have been so much worse. Black and blues are fading and his ribs are feeling so much better!</p><p> I finished the blanket that I was working on, and after it's washed will take it to church Sunday to leave in another pew. I've been enjoying this project, but it's sure going to take a while before every pew has a blanket or lap gan.</p><p> I'll let you go for tonight. Time for dinner and then time in my stitching chair tonight. Hallelujah! Thank you for stopping in once again. Love you all, and keep those fingers busy. Remember, "if you love colors, you can feel them".</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhRyrnU1mlHU0MnfbTjEcpQIIwVz4IxUwifCpe_W2gpjwrNBTYPIUstbkc88s7ad4gCFEju7yCJqUFV_3ZTblKK_Vs90RoJC9t56r19jOhfN0uOpS2XMYjwq3C01iZ6r0FfGn33siKrJ6pZMADDTa0WS5Nsll4U1Lv8hueFjvr6_a6_p53dxJ64GhZxZCs" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="1002" data-original-width="564" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhRyrnU1mlHU0MnfbTjEcpQIIwVz4IxUwifCpe_W2gpjwrNBTYPIUstbkc88s7ad4gCFEju7yCJqUFV_3ZTblKK_Vs90RoJC9t56r19jOhfN0uOpS2XMYjwq3C01iZ6r0FfGn33siKrJ6pZMADDTa0WS5Nsll4U1Lv8hueFjvr6_a6_p53dxJ64GhZxZCs=w225-h400" width="225" /></a></div><br /><br /><p></p><p> </p>LindaLeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17728347416196295679noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1351906888043318570.post-67109799678857177402024-01-02T18:40:00.000-05:002024-01-02T18:40:35.138-05:00Start Something New<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioCLWGN5XLcwd4hYfaFQpc-sStHpexz5kRH7eQeS7xNzGMQJ_xfoDoAr2B2AzPBrOA9Bt7OhN3znnu-s0EBs5ZhOa1fe2SXel_XYw9youBAaE0fzozlA28wKk8zYk4cqYzAFbIY6V-maD6twIgrWQxKjXSmBCDOR5htYAcFiJAa7Tz-QXcnAYW1223hBU/s526/415969999_10224879082870349_5256650554989157494_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="526" data-original-width="526" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioCLWGN5XLcwd4hYfaFQpc-sStHpexz5kRH7eQeS7xNzGMQJ_xfoDoAr2B2AzPBrOA9Bt7OhN3znnu-s0EBs5ZhOa1fe2SXel_XYw9youBAaE0fzozlA28wKk8zYk4cqYzAFbIY6V-maD6twIgrWQxKjXSmBCDOR5htYAcFiJAa7Tz-QXcnAYW1223hBU/w400-h400/415969999_10224879082870349_5256650554989157494_n.jpg" width="400" /></a>d</div><br /><p></p><p>"Start something new" they said, and then I asked, "Who's going to finish the old"!</p><p>Isn't is exciting though, to get out a new cross stitch chart along with the fabric and colored threads! I've seen a lot of posts the last few days from people who have something new to start on the first! Also, more posts from people saying how they have their charts and kits and all set up for the entire year! I'm very lucky when I get a piece finished, and here others are doing a couple three, or more pieces a week! Amazing to me, and I would love to watch someone work this way. Maybe I could learn some new tricks. </p><p>I plan on finishing my one cross stitch project that I have going, this week. Then I'll have to make it into a pillow. I have my next stitch planned and all the needs taken care of. Will be exciting and enjoyable to get it going.</p><p>Bill is doing better since his fall. The healing is slow of course and it's going to hurt when he sneezes, coughs and even just turns just so. It is what it is though, and he was so blessed to not wind up with broken bones or a concussion even.</p><p>A picture of the small blanket or lap gan that I'm working on now in the evenings. The day was nice and sunny here all day in the mid 60's. We stayed right here at home due to a fall that Bill took the other night. </p><p>Oh yes! He fell hard and we were blessed to find out at the emergency room after we waited for close to six hours, that no bones were broken. He had his middle finger on his left hand so out of place that the bone did break through the flesh, but it was set and more x-rays showed that it wasn't broken at all. Bruised ribs and muscles. Emergency room staff was very surprised that he hadn't broken anything! Still very, very sore with a hand swollen was up beyond the wrist. Hard for him to breathe deeply or even move around actually. Here he is now, and no need to show the awful looking x-ray before the finger was set. Swollen everywhere today and has a black eye. It will be a few weeks before he's feeling himself again.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtf_yRER6vaD4THtva2FopDeaboT_qPewchEr4sgvwoKM2KD8Z1DCVcE7TiXmM5h6vlal7cg23s1zQvnXOVxv7eSODFVKlLL3C-Z5dc95wmnB9JUOb5cnWsrOz2WnuIKddxWMIJ3F_ivEIiBpWqplhWNhG5sMP9QlyI31x2Ok2w4h9bGAF4mDeRFmvrb0/s4032/IMG_1461.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtf_yRER6vaD4THtva2FopDeaboT_qPewchEr4sgvwoKM2KD8Z1DCVcE7TiXmM5h6vlal7cg23s1zQvnXOVxv7eSODFVKlLL3C-Z5dc95wmnB9JUOb5cnWsrOz2WnuIKddxWMIJ3F_ivEIiBpWqplhWNhG5sMP9QlyI31x2Ok2w4h9bGAF4mDeRFmvrb0/w300-h400/IMG_1461.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p>I got the blanket I was working on completed, and after Bill telling me so many times how much he liked it and loved the colors, I decided I would gift it to him for Christmas. The next one I make will be another one for the church. Here's a picture. Had the variegated also. This is what I have so far. All simple double crochet and I'm really liking the looks of the combination. Lots of rain and it's supposed to travel right up the coast. So all of you who are in the path of it, just stay warm and dry and get those crock pots going with yummy soups and all. After church we plan on hunkering down with bowls of chili and watching some movies. Will be a good afternoon too, to work on my cross stitching and all.</div><div> Not a newsy post today or a long one, but one filled with love for all my followers. Temperature was 65 and not a cloud in the sky. What a difference a few hours can make! We're expecting some thunder storms to come in tomorrow, so the clouds are here already, and that means the sun in now hiding. Yes indeed. Thunder storms tomorrow with the temperature in the low 70's. Sounds good to me. A church service in the morning with some movies and cross stitching in the afternoon.</p><p><br /></p><p>I finished the lap blanket and got it sent out the other day. It should be delivered to Eddie today. I pray for better health for this dear man "my daughter-in-law's dad" and hope the blanket helps to keep him a little warmer. I was leery about using the off white that it called for, but as you can see, it really helped to show off the sections. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQLdZhTb-joMd5TTbE7qYMGv7XOqaSi-It80SGHuIuu5c1qvtAV9pnaDJcjVWd0GQcAMUP7SNe4jS3kYkJDQkRsMRB-MopxkSfiqbJ6UyhN-a__6ma5alahT937d-KvIa_BQCww4r1wAvW6rRZ1M1d95KHKeafNZYAudCpgWxDLITCvwazZ6nm2oFi3BA/s4032/IMG_1429.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQLdZhTb-joMd5TTbE7qYMGv7XOqaSi-It80SGHuIuu5c1qvtAV9pnaDJcjVWd0GQcAMUP7SNe4jS3kYkJDQkRsMRB-MopxkSfiqbJ6UyhN-a__6ma5alahT937d-KvIa_BQCww4r1wAvW6rRZ1M1d95KHKeafNZYAudCpgWxDLITCvwazZ6nm2oFi3BA/w300-h400/IMG_1429.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Yesterday was so busy with doctor appointments and not here in Havelock, but in New Bern. I'm not complaining though, as since we didn't finish until after one, we decided to have a nice lunch out. We were so full that we didn't need any dinner at all! Always a plus for the cook here! LOL. Going to make an easy dinner tonight of egg foo young with pork gravy.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">A couple pieces I plan on working on in January. First, the piece that will be a "stitch and send" piece from my LindaLee's Cross SAAL group. A few ladies have signed up to receive this piece and do some stitching on it before sending it on to the next participant. If you think you might be interested in this, join in at LindaLee's Cross SAL on Facebook. When it is completed a name from the participants will be drawn and that person will receive it as a gift to be finished to her liking. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjDVB2-B9Du78W35VLexbBIBmMeDqUNZgmabDmZ4PVs35J5fjVFrrMCFf0qQKuUpPEgd-2-1BoWcgoEnYMlM260hNxEckTB08RLG5yoi-lqVDhKepBzgrz5YuF-y_vD1yfZ1IuMeOetWO0862e5xEptVdlOF_QVjreJhMT6kKSxyqvHEztZ8cYdnb3ENVE" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="249" data-original-width="203" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjDVB2-B9Du78W35VLexbBIBmMeDqUNZgmabDmZ4PVs35J5fjVFrrMCFf0qQKuUpPEgd-2-1BoWcgoEnYMlM260hNxEckTB08RLG5yoi-lqVDhKepBzgrz5YuF-y_vD1yfZ1IuMeOetWO0862e5xEptVdlOF_QVjreJhMT6kKSxyqvHEztZ8cYdnb3ENVE=w327-h400" width="327" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And then, for myself, I'm looking forward to this one below. I hope to get more stitching done this coming year of course. Grey has taken so much of my time. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So I will let you all go for the day. Weeks and weeks of planning, purchasing prizes and food, getting donations from local businesses, selling tickets and decorating go into this one night. It takes lots of time and energy for this one night to turn out well, and it always does. The DJ had a picture booth as well this year, and here's what Bill and I came home with.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTk63nE6mCUdo0e2yLXwLS08dnoh9cDGYgHaEoQ7oleeQlQpGZNu5itRvJV16T4g1AGDSCgpbdpYQDsktRO2rlbOnkdfaN7ILY87RAQKOVB51FAZ0C_BWafnzEfj4wB0vMQp6J7umSlxzB-hOx6pg_ZU1wWg9Tsq3puweg062vDTM2DmaI5ZhrbtNAowg/s1800/Queen%20Mother.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1800" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTk63nE6mCUdo0e2yLXwLS08dnoh9cDGYgHaEoQ7oleeQlQpGZNu5itRvJV16T4g1AGDSCgpbdpYQDsktRO2rlbOnkdfaN7ILY87RAQKOVB51FAZ0C_BWafnzEfj4wB0vMQp6J7umSlxzB-hOx6pg_ZU1wWg9Tsq3puweg062vDTM2DmaI5ZhrbtNAowg/w400-h266/Queen%20Mother.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My little daughter-in-law, jokingly calls me "Queen Mother"! So I chose the crown to wear! LOL We ate way too much and once home, went right to bed!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We woke up this morning with an overcast sky, but a nice temperature of 65. Then and there we decided that it would be a stay at home day with hot cups of coffee and warm and toasty toes as well. Of course Bill got his nap in while I worked on the lap blanket I'm making. So far so good. It's a quick stitch and easy to remember directions. I'm also like the pure white crocheted in with the off white. The off white makes the pure white pop.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBay8EOaeT3v7slAtbPGRyoJcAhyueJV5Y6mvd2xVtKPea3OnN2HWIFOg0wjaGgtse7fDaUyJHzvr7QW4l3EaIBHZRHqRlRtypHscAiDdo8F3Vs2x2N4eaq837G1m6p8qCfAaFU5GUdFtLhbtj4kiZfsKDI-j-v0r5ZZUfI9Q4NmsdtFXcJ_k-FIj6Ou0/s4032/Ed's%20gan2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBay8EOaeT3v7slAtbPGRyoJcAhyueJV5Y6mvd2xVtKPea3OnN2HWIFOg0wjaGgtse7fDaUyJHzvr7QW4l3EaIBHZRHqRlRtypHscAiDdo8F3Vs2x2N4eaq837G1m6p8qCfAaFU5GUdFtLhbtj4kiZfsKDI-j-v0r5ZZUfI9Q4NmsdtFXcJ_k-FIj6Ou0/w300-h400/Ed's%20gan2.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I just can't believe that this is the month of December! It seems that I was up camping for the week with my family in NH, and that was in June this year. We had so much fun, and I've already reserved our spot for next July. Looking forward to the swimming and hiking. Playing board games in the evenings and making and sharing meals with the family.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I saw this picture online the other day and fell in love with the chair. Yes indeed. My family came down from NH and was here for close to a week. My son, Allen with my beautiful daughter-in-law, Lisa, and my great grandson, Isaiah. We enjoyed them so very much, and hated to see them go, but life goes on. Me! Never a good picture, but isn't Lisa beautiful! Isaiah was so good for the hour plus, but he has chapel every Tuesday in school, so knows what he needs to do.<div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgN92K8FGZFcJuEsCpraVnC8dNVC6IwyVUMgme_BKVn3PPf6qTsYwx0Yt2GM4MY3JK7pSKCtMxyboeQ4UMFXiJH8BDuGym77MYgZXJ8AHmU6F-6b4uJQ94TsogLFsoZ-fEjVlvcYFM-T8UIFHNHwXZLFMD4RcenruC6zbEiJHfFm_VXAOw6iIgGLaW_uT8" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgN92K8FGZFcJuEsCpraVnC8dNVC6IwyVUMgme_BKVn3PPf6qTsYwx0Yt2GM4MY3JK7pSKCtMxyboeQ4UMFXiJH8BDuGym77MYgZXJ8AHmU6F-6b4uJQ94TsogLFsoZ-fEjVlvcYFM-T8UIFHNHwXZLFMD4RcenruC6zbEiJHfFm_VXAOw6iIgGLaW_uT8=w400-h300" width="400" /></a></div><br /></div><div>I took two more afghans to church this past Sunday and am now working on a lap blanket for a veteran. Double strand throughout with worsted weight. Just started it, but I think will go quite fast. The MC is off white, with red white and blue as well. Sure doesn't look like much yet, but will keep you posted as it grows. It's certainly going to be warm enough.</div><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZdHH3UtlE2eeJJTId3sxYwcxwQL5bK0UlCdMZi_Mm8bHxVLfUkTlLJwI2j3VXKktZKlYi9QX2_cF14yWC2oTnsVKFC3dW_vjQ0rDVY7CMsA0rd3z1k_YeBI_CKGormCPVov5skRDdh0yyz10ISE4bYaPF5No13N7Se3WAqSAO-rgi75Uo8NBsMS_zDdk/s4032/ed's%20lap.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZdHH3UtlE2eeJJTId3sxYwcxwQL5bK0UlCdMZi_Mm8bHxVLfUkTlLJwI2j3VXKktZKlYi9QX2_cF14yWC2oTnsVKFC3dW_vjQ0rDVY7CMsA0rd3z1k_YeBI_CKGormCPVov5skRDdh0yyz10ISE4bYaPF5No13N7Se3WAqSAO-rgi75Uo8NBsMS_zDdk/w400-h300/ed's%20lap.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The Orioles are back! One of my favorites. These beautiful plants would never grow for me. For years they would just stay as green as ever but never got any larger and never would bloom. When we moved down here to NC, I started putting them outside in early spring and would bring them in when we got our first frost warning. Well my goodness! They now grow like crazy and blooms galore every year! I've even been able to start new from cuttings. God sure does know how to please this senior citizen! </span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj2lJ2guOPvTrYTMOmiw4ynWroKbLN84TQdC9u7Bl_ko62Yv8tV7g8YhD57EFRUZ9oOsbQJO4GQyW1Mt9Ji0FJn65_orhJeovaSmVGXv2Lmq4CKF5ho3xrh4_kUvUnpRmCcyAPNqONyz2cjTxvaSNGAw3qaXW4VL0IIyCZ14LKimqmed3gK6sj-CYJwSes" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><img alt="" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj2lJ2guOPvTrYTMOmiw4ynWroKbLN84TQdC9u7Bl_ko62Yv8tV7g8YhD57EFRUZ9oOsbQJO4GQyW1Mt9Ji0FJn65_orhJeovaSmVGXv2Lmq4CKF5ho3xrh4_kUvUnpRmCcyAPNqONyz2cjTxvaSNGAw3qaXW4VL0IIyCZ14LKimqmed3gK6sj-CYJwSes=w400-h300" width="400" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span></div><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br />Close to the end of the third skein of yarn on this blanket, and I do hope that it will be large enough to take to church. Bill built a shelf feeder and put it even with the bottom of the glass, so when the birds land, you see them real well. Took them a few days to get used to it, but they're slowly getting used to it. The Hummingbirds are all gone now, but I've cleaned the feeders and have one back up at the said window for the Orioles. They surprised us last year by showing up at one of the feeders that I hadn't taken down, and stayed with us through February. This picture was from last year, and taken with the screen down. Will get a better picture this year.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"> </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhqpLgi8vRUfhHyiLPJ2n4eKLiULEXdbCHzYl3ITOUIuKcp8RAK5aGnihrpP1s-vi8fDVo1IQ1YurO9b72zOLC9Dd494hHaChQv-ISFXuNrrfgm-upNfrHgBtFe3DTpy9FUOYGmMCbyjJuACr8lR3FL60OhSqEjGsG7pwMuN62_gnzFQIumof9f3DlBQpo" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><img alt="" data-original-height="701" data-original-width="526" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhqpLgi8vRUfhHyiLPJ2n4eKLiULEXdbCHzYl3ITOUIuKcp8RAK5aGnihrpP1s-vi8fDVo1IQ1YurO9b72zOLC9Dd494hHaChQv-ISFXuNrrfgm-upNfrHgBtFe3DTpy9FUOYGmMCbyjJuACr8lR3FL60OhSqEjGsG7pwMuN62_gnzFQIumof9f3DlBQpo=w300-h400" width="300" /></span></a></div><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><br /></span><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: helvetica;">Bill is on a heart monitor now, for a couple of weeks. A chilly 54 degrees at one today, and it has been drizzly all day. Leaves are falling off the trees and we're seeing less people out walking when we're out and about. The little ones getting on the school busses in the mornings are now all decked out with jackets and hats and even most of us big folk have opted for long sleeves and shoes rather than sandals. You can step outside some evenings or early mornings and are met with the smell of a woodstove nearby. Hot cups of coffee or tea are favored in mid afternoons rather than an ice tea or soda. Yep! It's that time of year! </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: medium;"> I have several Christmas cacti and all are full of buds at this time and a couple of them, in bloom. Here's the first to bloom below. My yellow one is right behind it and I'll take a picture of that one tomorrow.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: medium;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhGy-8NGjm1Q3MHx8inqW9vXROGYhxRCeALPgxS3r0_tpAjTHftsLAhS1dUk18GrnpsN0T19KF61oFuz72XB3aBasWT5Vq_JNvsfb0xap82ToiNONSizthWWNfRS3RKtXxKHXPosCXvEdG-Oj_kYxgCSl2PmZM107lx9ea37Ir4Sqg7Akd5dVbKp-Li2Fw" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhGy-8NGjm1Q3MHx8inqW9vXROGYhxRCeALPgxS3r0_tpAjTHftsLAhS1dUk18GrnpsN0T19KF61oFuz72XB3aBasWT5Vq_JNvsfb0xap82ToiNONSizthWWNfRS3RKtXxKHXPosCXvEdG-Oj_kYxgCSl2PmZM107lx9ea37Ir4Sqg7Akd5dVbKp-Li2Fw=w400-h300" width="400" /></a></span></div><span style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: medium;"><br /> I'm working on the afghan as well as my cross stitch piece at this time. Cross stitch in the morning with my first up of hot coffee, and the crochet any other time of the day. Not so much counting so less need to concentrate so hard. The afghan also feels good on your lap as you're working on it this time of year.</span><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: medium;">I got such a lovely gift from a very dear and long online friend. I was very surprised an so happy when I opened it. She does beautiful work, and her and I both love Teresa Kogut's designs. So the tote and needle book is made from a fabric designed by Teresa! By the way.....This is my morning do! Thank you my sweet friend, Louise. Oh! Also, she made a needle book from the same fabric and the zipper fob is adorable all by itself with a butterfly, bluebirds, an I love you heart and a mustard seed attached. Such a thoughtful and wonderful gift! </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: medium;"> </span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjNH-l3NJ3Uq5oycSE0IMwms1bj8-a3UuuAhXFdCJ4cXOWncLxgswNbeULKj__eyQtalmVoMGoW6VnbhM1ofZkxT1rByL_Uhly2k0Bm7A53UhIWuHei6di7S-mspGnxaR0k0Y2peRGiggto82hPkCCzH5n_QiWY4yUsBcSyagajK8KirGjepwLfvr0wuF4" style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: large; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img alt="" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjNH-l3NJ3Uq5oycSE0IMwms1bj8-a3UuuAhXFdCJ4cXOWncLxgswNbeULKj__eyQtalmVoMGoW6VnbhM1ofZkxT1rByL_Uhly2k0Bm7A53UhIWuHei6di7S-mspGnxaR0k0Y2peRGiggto82hPkCCzH5n_QiWY4yUsBcSyagajK8KirGjepwLfvr0wuF4=w300-h400" width="300" /></a></p><p><span style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-family: Courgette; font-size: medium;">I must show you this beautiful piece that my grand daughter did. Some of you may know Ashley from LindaLee's Cross SAL group. I taught her how to cross stitch about a year and a half ago, and she hasn't quit yet! She picked it right up and has done some beautiful pieces. The senior center had a couple of programs for us "care givers" and it was quite overwhelming </span> <span style="font-family: Work Sans;">to say the least. Up until today, I felt that we had taken care of all paperwork as far as power of attorney, etc., goes. With Bill's dementia setting in though, I need to do so much of it all over again! Oh goodness! This will be time consuming as well as probably upsetting for me. I love the way it changes the different colors. Less cutting and weaving in. I have a hard time changing to a different pattern, as the shell stitch works up so quickly. This particular color palette has so many greens in it, and green is indeed my favorite! I finished another throw for a pew at church. Used yarn I already had, so it isn't as colorful as some of the others, but will keep any chill off. This is draped over a recliner in the living room, so it looks smaller than what it actually is. Hard to tell by the picture, but there are actually four different colors in it.</p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiePt5b0lTHN2H2LFkSr5kD4mngUO1ZMat35NLXPE2y6mnf2x8B77kZKFxydqnsZX3F96385swc_uFbdyPq5FoIGbmm01t4kzWiETM_OQf78oHamgTKQnYgY7VbKI3T5AMZhWiE4tf5ZVN8J1I8HP6C9MIpzc20NHhthPvx_PmCHZjm4kf3kou6QIfE8oc" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2016" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiePt5b0lTHN2H2LFkSr5kD4mngUO1ZMat35NLXPE2y6mnf2x8B77kZKFxydqnsZX3F96385swc_uFbdyPq5FoIGbmm01t4kzWiETM_OQf78oHamgTKQnYgY7VbKI3T5AMZhWiE4tf5ZVN8J1I8HP6C9MIpzc20NHhthPvx_PmCHZjm4kf3kou6QIfE8oc=w400-h300" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p> I mentioned "Gray" yesterday also, and didn't post a picture. The air starts to get cooler, and though he chill seems too soon to some, to others it's a blessing. A blessing for me actually, as I'm finding that as I get older, the summer heat and high humidity is hard for me. We "Bill and I" haven't done any gardening in a couple of years now. Though we love working with the soil and all, we have to face the real facts! We do miss it though.</p><p> I think when the beautiful fall colors begin in the mountains of NC as well as in my home state of New Hampshire, stitchers can actually "feel them", and wind up making beautiful needlework pieces as shown here</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; The sun is coming up and it does look like we have another beautiful day in store. We've been enjoying cooler weather here and the Hummingbirds have left the area for this year. The Luna moths are many this year, and when they nearly cover the Lantanas, the sight is beautiful. </p><p> Been getting back into the grove by putting in about an hour every morning on my stitching. I caved and ordered this chart below. I'll do it up one day and want to give it to a very dear friend of mine. It's a full coverage piece and in sepia tones which I love. It's called, "The Game", but it looks to me, with the yarn and all, that the lady is actually teaching the child to do some type of needlework.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9jMw-Jm9F7JmRp0zJjuRSiXXNBYhEF9SCjC6IgNTHuAuVNpAYA0HlUHuAclrPP-X5ymp0uUD1uua1Zwu6lbqlAEDtpqfvbAEHZ7L7vCXYQiRb3HfaNv2gj6dQWUqEyIroH6tpjBRFFfnMXFAaYfvA2I9QseSw1oNVJXUHbIRvEcEmAVXt3j7CKULL/s450/the%20game.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="403" data-original-width="450" height="359" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9jMw-Jm9F7JmRp0zJjuRSiXXNBYhEF9SCjC6IgNTHuAuVNpAYA0HlUHuAclrPP-X5ymp0uUD1uua1Zwu6lbqlAEDtpqfvbAEHZ7L7vCXYQiRb3HfaNv2gj6dQWUqEyIroH6tpjBRFFfnMXFAaYfvA2I9QseSw1oNVJXUHbIRvEcEmAVXt3j7CKULL/w400-h359/the%20game.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I don't know how many of you do other types of needlework. I do and enjoy each one. Cross stitch is my favorite though. I saw this afghan crocheted by a dear lady on another site, and just had to post it. With her permission of course. So here it is, all finished and crocheted by Terri Shepard. What gorgeous colors! I could just wrap myself right up in it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDtVb6_tLMg29ip_L6zftLPfduYG51uBoGWWEL6KUNEoLwrPqvnD-lgE7XzMLjtTDyzj4510_ktrVD2_2ZbSSugRaa3W7Qnl0BSDU8NvalvAGpncHSCpGnpOA0HFzEOPW_UltlX3CGh-RX3PdJLthCI16jJxzmuQKQPloiCzdfeWNNVSrpv6z5mt19/s699/colorful%20afghan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="699" data-original-width="526" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDtVb6_tLMg29ip_L6zftLPfduYG51uBoGWWEL6KUNEoLwrPqvnD-lgE7XzMLjtTDyzj4510_ktrVD2_2ZbSSugRaa3W7Qnl0BSDU8NvalvAGpncHSCpGnpOA0HFzEOPW_UltlX3CGh-RX3PdJLthCI16jJxzmuQKQPloiCzdfeWNNVSrpv6z5mt19/w301-h400/colorful%20afghan.jpg" width="301" /></a></div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here's another beautiful afghan. The air is cooler and the sun actually feels good. Bill and I both have been outside. Planted two "peanut butter" trees and a Tulip tree. Hope to one day find that they're shading the car a good part of the day. Time will tell.</p><p> Looking at some of the Facebook pages that I follow, I saw this here purse. Thinking it's one of the prettiest crocheted purses that I've seen, and got the pattern. Won't be starting it right away, but I'll remember that I have it. Kathy McIntyre crocheted this one. I love the colors she used.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgzw3EE69PxCoyKXWmK4Uw3MfBJhXUCBIuKHSAOxoD1Nr9tPheGlgwMmmsN_P119_BA0qI2amn5dGN-ZH29bgpUDcEVsBzmV1nx9JPdFZEjZRGv84jfiGF02rVJJ5-Yk5IUUH9Z19R_9PqUfK-PxX_dgu1GojMPjUnZGOfAJET2hp-kxXHMKCXCMpK/s2048/Kathleen's%20Purse.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgzw3EE69PxCoyKXWmK4Uw3MfBJhXUCBIuKHSAOxoD1Nr9tPheGlgwMmmsN_P119_BA0qI2amn5dGN-ZH29bgpUDcEVsBzmV1nx9JPdFZEjZRGv84jfiGF02rVJJ5-Yk5IUUH9Z19R_9PqUfK-PxX_dgu1GojMPjUnZGOfAJET2hp-kxXHMKCXCMpK/w400-h400/Kathleen's%20Purse.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p> Have been helping my little daughter-in-law for the last couple days. She just had a knee cap removed and is "painfully" healing. Though I took a couple of things with me, I didn't spend a lot of time on them. I loved it! Decided to make it up and here it is below. Instead of the off white, I went with the pale beige and the straps I sent for matches it perfectly. I lined it with muslin and added the button. Already using it and I love it still. Enjoyed making it so</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicMKlN8ZAv2mZRpD6qxKHiT6JHDoPq1nDNeYk6SmR1y5OzVInWzZ3_rHnsfsbZnaE_yVwUcz7yuIkeAqOM-Tnu3azdDzvhHLkW0VSi8Pkm9QVcdvhjpDnKMfkqXKtF5u61RN8_SvtkaMEBmJjUFQm6RS87W_LOqsC7MMQKmWEYiI4C5R0Lu-ynFvR9/s4032/my%20boho.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicMKlN8ZAv2mZRpD6qxKHiT6JHDoPq1nDNeYk6SmR1y5OzVInWzZ3_rHnsfsbZnaE_yVwUcz7yuIkeAqOM-Tnu3azdDzvhHLkW0VSi8Pkm9QVcdvhjpDnKMfkqXKtF5u61RN8_SvtkaMEBmJjUFQm6RS87W_LOqsC7MMQKmWEYiI4C5R0Lu-ynFvR9/w300-h400/my%20boho.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">much, that I decided to keep on crocheting, and am now making a shawl with so Willow yarn. I have lots to keep me busy which includes the house working chores as well as my needlework! Just need a little......or a lot of energy to even begin sometimes. I always have a great excuse, and my favorite is, "I'm 76 years old and deserve to sit and do nothing"! Only problem is, is that excuses don't get anything done either!</p><p> I did pick up my cross stitch this morning. First time since I've been back from my vacation. The hour I put into it felt so good, and to be working on Grey again was needed. I would love to finish him in time for a Christmas gift, but that means a lot of X's indeed! Want to get back into that stitching for an hour each morning. I'm working on the lower right hand corner of Grey right now.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjewdTrXuz0CRjS2v8fjjxxI935we2cmCpIWBsdbJWnkN8AjNPgAT3JyPbdLpvFHw3P0dC_NyhAjdiUzRpn97QhS2CqXJi1xsLIVJlUBg_5khWmcJRa9-5RmIgXTcnbmXT9AGDslZf_X3fw2N1ufIKNvSmtQ3nxhHHZNbAeEhp7lgHM81auLZ44jiZi/s4032/lower.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjewdTrXuz0CRjS2v8fjjxxI935we2cmCpIWBsdbJWnkN8AjNPgAT3JyPbdLpvFHw3P0dC_NyhAjdiUzRpn97QhS2CqXJi1xsLIVJlUBg_5khWmcJRa9-5RmIgXTcnbmXT9AGDslZf_X3fw2N1ufIKNvSmtQ3nxhHHZNbAeEhp7lgHM81auLZ44jiZi/w400-h300/lower.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also finished the purse I was working on. End results is a 13 X 8 purse using knitting worsted. It's all lined, and it was an easy pattern. The next one, I plan on it being multicolored and crochet the handle as well. A good project to start tomorrow while waiting for Bill at the dentist. He's having a lengthy procedure started and won't be able to drive home.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg27MfOU_ogP9F1cShYZShcCnMvSjej1mTU3mEVoGtamF-IUUBV3VEEodqNXDN_gEeJQ4EsDajoXPc0EWxB3PcbKY7gPQZOy-VnXK40zWABtFisRr3u4eE-WZdqApJOtpjAV_i9EFUCSEVX9fZn6wUwKC5lLoOD8LvZ4EwIFYP4oXouzC6pGVNkTGXR/s4032/pic%20for%20knit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg27MfOU_ogP9F1cShYZShcCnMvSjej1mTU3mEVoGtamF-IUUBV3VEEodqNXDN_gEeJQ4EsDajoXPc0EWxB3PcbKY7gPQZOy-VnXK40zWABtFisRr3u4eE-WZdqApJOtpjAV_i9EFUCSEVX9fZn6wUwKC5lLoOD8LvZ4EwIFYP4oXouzC6pGVNkTGXR/w300-h400/pic%20for%20knit.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">At our local senior center, we have started chair volley ball. A beach ball is used and you can't stand up. It is so much fun. Bill and I both have enjoyed it, and it is catching on fast, so we'll probably be adding a second court!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Lots of noise and all going on behind us. Having some very tall trees removed in preparation of any hurricanes that may come our way this year. The weather remains a little more comfortable here, so it's a little easier for the workers. They did find an underground hornet's nest, and wound up digging it up and removing the stump and all for no extra cost. The guy just said that he hated hornets and would close the door of the piece of equipment and go at it! One way to take care of them for sure. We'll check again next wet day and if there are any left, we'll burn them out. I hate to do that, but sting they will and their stings hurt!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Planning a trip up to Blowing Rock sometime soon. It's a five hour trip, so we'll spend a night there. Lots of trails, streams and scenic views. Then the town of Blowing Rock itself is so quaint. Looking forward to making the trip. It may not be for a month or so, due to Bill's procedure. Three visits for that in all.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Going to let you go for now. I do hope that this finds you all well and keeping those fingers busy with beautiful threads and colors. Love you all.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">"Feel The Colors"</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhREvBvAXpuR-Xy85Vu4qkohFGnqaNTXW6r7fI9FC9Dp9yci9VMmYAi0XBfrttHYh9ilhxX7Net-MV5apLUtSNJh1ytOe_jK6oUV2ni0emWZjQffPDdKwom5KL8ET2ZsGwNX190kJfcLUar9yp31RxhB2IsvFYnxIUbMiE_8th1ZiWi00ByAvJbAqvE/s564/colorful%20afghan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="564" data-original-width="564" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhREvBvAXpuR-Xy85Vu4qkohFGnqaNTXW6r7fI9FC9Dp9yci9VMmYAi0XBfrttHYh9ilhxX7Net-MV5apLUtSNJh1ytOe_jK6oUV2ni0emWZjQffPDdKwom5KL8ET2ZsGwNX190kJfcLUar9yp31RxhB2IsvFYnxIUbMiE_8th1ZiWi00ByAvJbAqvE/w400-h400/colorful%20afghan.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p> </p>LindaLeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17728347416196295679noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1351906888043318570.post-19256730914918735682022-08-13T12:17:00.001-04:002022-08-13T12:17:34.486-04:00Welcoming the Cool<p> Only 65 this early morning. Hasn't been this cool since mid spring here. It feels so good. Shut the AC off last night and opened the bedroom windows. Then this morning we have doors and windows open as well. It's just plain lovely! It does look like we're in for a couple of days of cooler weather ahead and a little rain. So thankful for this.</p><p> I haven't gotten to my cross stitching since I last posted. Just been on the go with a few things here, and by the time I have some spare time, I have just relaxed. I have however ordered three new charts from calicoconfectionery at Etsy. Marcie there is our featured designer at my LindaLee's SAL for this month, and is giving us a 15% discount! So the three are shown below.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvdi0qwmktGIZzQOKpg4I3hYeLJQSmKsEi6Rp2D3ymYqtu-7CkVX1pfMbzNM_kp876HwHP5wADYaoQ3M_54Trz8Sg66fW83EHxeU81pTIavEQcBAdu0DLhhn0nO41o7Hs7sCBp2V3lRFwezcmgQdm7zNQNZBbiU0tA39XEzLe-QTJizscf56L4P5XO/s827/shineon.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="827" data-original-width="794" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvdi0qwmktGIZzQOKpg4I3hYeLJQSmKsEi6Rp2D3ymYqtu-7CkVX1pfMbzNM_kp876HwHP5wADYaoQ3M_54Trz8Sg66fW83EHxeU81pTIavEQcBAdu0DLhhn0nO41o7Hs7sCBp2V3lRFwezcmgQdm7zNQNZBbiU0tA39XEzLe-QTJizscf56L4P5XO/w384-h400/shineon.jpg" width="384" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYzlDDyHEU6NVUoAIokGQYz6qiXCHmIWVlss8L4zcE2H-0yPiWZhTjz4lQOpIOiROfVoggh34pDO-Jwx8FhpN0N1W_jsBg3A9-HTLU9m9FM4iSZMWuzjMfbpxhVKrux04XMqJfZB2iIyTCp8J6AtbbIEQyJmnFG56242r5NLJp27--iy5jvBCWvnf2/s794/thankful.webp" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="534" data-original-width="794" height="269" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYzlDDyHEU6NVUoAIokGQYz6qiXCHmIWVlss8L4zcE2H-0yPiWZhTjz4lQOpIOiROfVoggh34pDO-Jwx8FhpN0N1W_jsBg3A9-HTLU9m9FM4iSZMWuzjMfbpxhVKrux04XMqJfZB2iIyTCp8J6AtbbIEQyJmnFG56242r5NLJp27--iy5jvBCWvnf2/w400-h269/thankful.webp" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQvGVw9xj-oqm6cVDMu_iEr7y5qPFS9_f0hALIgvxCn6dQrfkCJ_mupWgwZjKxa9TDBWDEvb9plfXryoDzAoq6LpumEQg2Xh6GDsDmNj7jHWbTsuEC7zy70-vN8gP_XALDeK03Dv8_7SMjquFuCtT29ooyAKW-l3X36oVIMszcMsXUJQOGgI2eb7Wo/s794/BITTERSWEET.webp" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="608" data-original-width="794" height="306" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQvGVw9xj-oqm6cVDMu_iEr7y5qPFS9_f0hALIgvxCn6dQrfkCJ_mupWgwZjKxa9TDBWDEvb9plfXryoDzAoq6LpumEQg2Xh6GDsDmNj7jHWbTsuEC7zy70-vN8gP_XALDeK03Dv8_7SMjquFuCtT29ooyAKW-l3X36oVIMszcMsXUJQOGgI2eb7Wo/w400-h306/BITTERSWEET.webp" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Marcie has so many pretty designs and I'm so glad that she did decide to join in our fun at LindaLee's.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I finished the crocheting on the purse that I showed you in my last post. It was just about eight years ago, that I was given one to three weeks to live! This was after I had been in the hospital for more than six weeks. After several medications, and even some that they use for cancer patients, and my spleen removed, I was sent home to wait to pass. I went to have my platelets checked every day and they stayed critically low for three weeks. Then God stepped in and my platelets began to climb. Climb they did! From under 2,000 to where they are today at 400,000 plus! So here I am. Today I am declared ITP free! I have to tell this story every so often, to give others hope and to again, praise the Lord. Thank you Father for every new day.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAjsC73R9k0JjKN5FknIkh6m_J5RzwqS-BzukEVK9ITc4_pDiF52NbJxUXr1m_FqXvCRpov5uXh94LJ6bD_uyzDaMAE58KXTiN_5JxIT5aTjz7vAU3kQXGdiZMeQbWXVyi1F2RFsLbhfCvptdfDHvOxG4zbfsXrzKqSlSWdjmp7evR9LdRes3ShPRh/s500/amish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="333" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAjsC73R9k0JjKN5FknIkh6m_J5RzwqS-BzukEVK9ITc4_pDiF52NbJxUXr1m_FqXvCRpov5uXh94LJ6bD_uyzDaMAE58KXTiN_5JxIT5aTjz7vAU3kQXGdiZMeQbWXVyi1F2RFsLbhfCvptdfDHvOxG4zbfsXrzKqSlSWdjmp7evR9LdRes3ShPRh/w266-h400/amish.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><br /><p> I have more done on the piece I showed you the other day, and should be able to finish it up today. I have the house to fill in and the ground of white snow. A few tiny snow flakes as well. It seems good to be able to work on something that is in the rotation pieces. It always reminds me of how much I loved the pieces and the colors when I first saw it. Then again when I kitted it up.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOCftc7XVKwl42VbU9dwJgMoSBNfAtYI30MuWxdYQkWYoUUINwV-OsfDi5KiN8w8-cbE42XQ8CfcVmQXEGFsLZrnSewyCdGJPpEwJbdYYojSKUwP1O92-chj2dNYi977QJ8eXS1lFYRnfLMKmtxh3dAjM_uE7_xSzPHmQJFN88a0C5M1QObUoRefeC/s4032/post1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOCftc7XVKwl42VbU9dwJgMoSBNfAtYI30MuWxdYQkWYoUUINwV-OsfDi5KiN8w8-cbE42XQ8CfcVmQXEGFsLZrnSewyCdGJPpEwJbdYYojSKUwP1O92-chj2dNYi977QJ8eXS1lFYRnfLMKmtxh3dAjM_uE7_xSzPHmQJFN88a0C5M1QObUoRefeC/w400-h300/post1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p> Something new has come to us cross stitch lovers. Now, kits that come with fully printed designs on aida! The threads are with it and all sorted out for you. Also a paper chart! I'm in no hurry with this one, but think it would work out well as a "take with me" piece while waiting for an appointment of some type.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi46CrpaGv5qwxmzmMyBKPiUJ0TBF8YiFIHOjwfM8uPhVmjxG7LgZ5sW4GRiD73KYA5rdAO5cw4yD-nGNgkq0_O1083brc-F0tw0qWsitmixXkzpOQRDaNXFvQ4BAx5S0FgaMRw1C8ASRoTy-x-PwllgLptFaAxXpI61HErYXxXV11XS07QTbaQohnK/s4032/post2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi46CrpaGv5qwxmzmMyBKPiUJ0TBF8YiFIHOjwfM8uPhVmjxG7LgZ5sW4GRiD73KYA5rdAO5cw4yD-nGNgkq0_O1083brc-F0tw0qWsitmixXkzpOQRDaNXFvQ4BAx5S0FgaMRw1C8ASRoTy-x-PwllgLptFaAxXpI61HErYXxXV11XS07QTbaQohnK/w300-h400/post2.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p> Today I'll be straightening out my sewing room. I have to do this like once a month. Get all things put away in their proper places. All threads back where they belong and charts that I haven't started yet put away. Approximately three weeks from now, it will look like it does at this moment! Which isn't good! So much for keeping my work area picked up! I can't believe that I let it get this bad.....and so often too!</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnvIHWkIbca3BMMj28jAPMpl1TiFqLO3oAqslItp-L5BTxAPb2IXR0UAxgDvAKAuIPSufrxkCqQKWyyPFIamiJ5uvJm13yKMEGKY38kukyVGRm9C9CYbtJPtZ3IUgPJN8_zufu4kKTg6a3ftoosTdaByakTgqdcUIqcxZlW-Ab5y6s9xTvILpOW0_g/s4032/mess.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnvIHWkIbca3BMMj28jAPMpl1TiFqLO3oAqslItp-L5BTxAPb2IXR0UAxgDvAKAuIPSufrxkCqQKWyyPFIamiJ5uvJm13yKMEGKY38kukyVGRm9C9CYbtJPtZ3IUgPJN8_zufu4kKTg6a3ftoosTdaByakTgqdcUIqcxZlW-Ab5y6s9xTvILpOW0_g/w300-h400/mess.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /> At my Facebook group, LindaLee's Cross SAL, we're so lucky to have Marcie Peschong from the Calico Confectionery Etsy shop as our featured designer for August. It's August already, and I'm sure by now many of you are looking forward to fall weather. It has been a hot and humid summer, but some things we have to endure while we wait for the nicer things. I hope this finds you all healthy and keeping those fingers busy with beautiful colors.</p><p> I just got back home from nearly a month long vacation. I had looked forward to the getaway to NH for over a year, but didn't realize just how much I needed it as well. New Hampshire is my home state, and I have so much family and good friends there. I saw a number of my cousins that I hadn't seen in 33 years! Imagine that! When we got together, it was just like we had never parted. What fun and I love them all so much. Got to see more cousins and my son and his beautiful wife along with grandchildren and a great grand. There were so many things going on and every one of them was fun. Trivia nights with dinner out a couple of times a week. Watching my daughter-in-law as she played pickleball. Got to know lots of friends of hers. Walks and a camping trip. Spending a day at the beach I went to as a child a lot. Taught my little grand, Isaiah, how to catch tiny crabs there and he loved swimming there. I learned to play Phase 10 and we played nearly every night. I now miss everyone and am determined that my next trip to NH will be a lot sooner than this one.</p><p> A beautiful wall quilt that I found for $5.00 at a thrift shop. It has a name and a date of 1997 on the back, and it stitching is beautiful. It looks brand new, and I'm getting ready to hang it. It's 35" x 35".</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtnb0xX02HBJMdXUDZxOUY9UlnMaFA3Mi2qmiLd1qBAcBq6UoczTkul0cj55qJ3bbLLEg9ZWtKBWuOPgwlrRHZuQKoiBafgy4UcC1jwNxQLQKyjSHWe1JKDwKbSzmOG5NcVsvEUhMMgZTImIYdCRcjLkGOebwQhx1-ouK2dhsivGZfnDFkJ_ilQvgs/s4032/frances.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtnb0xX02HBJMdXUDZxOUY9UlnMaFA3Mi2qmiLd1qBAcBq6UoczTkul0cj55qJ3bbLLEg9ZWtKBWuOPgwlrRHZuQKoiBafgy4UcC1jwNxQLQKyjSHWe1JKDwKbSzmOG5NcVsvEUhMMgZTImIYdCRcjLkGOebwQhx1-ouK2dhsivGZfnDFkJ_ilQvgs/w400-h300/frances.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p><br /></p> When I left for my trip, I brought a piece with me that is in my rotation pieces. Once up there, I realized that I had left a number of the specialty threads at home! Duh! Needless to say, I didn't get a lot of stitching done, but this is what I was working on.<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0j3Ky9ruswKqt3OzP-Dm3dhVeCnLkNNRwYyVMAcTFhBq9boU0qTVEs6oEeqJnaGx1XMkX6N8-AZQNVoC-TsDCZoHTHJa-7HEhmC76vx4XhN_kXYIRJtBCJGFa-VnKg8fJA7UKKmfgqZzHMCqjaeD48-c-OQmOiHIkbHK_sNdegoekrRliqJnab9GI/s4032/not%20much.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0j3Ky9ruswKqt3OzP-Dm3dhVeCnLkNNRwYyVMAcTFhBq9boU0qTVEs6oEeqJnaGx1XMkX6N8-AZQNVoC-TsDCZoHTHJa-7HEhmC76vx4XhN_kXYIRJtBCJGFa-VnKg8fJA7UKKmfgqZzHMCqjaeD48-c-OQmOiHIkbHK_sNdegoekrRliqJnab9GI/w300-h400/not%20much.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things, now that I'm home again. I am already thinking spring. The Quince shrub in our front yard is actually in bloom! Now I did notice last year, that it blooms three different times through out the year. I guess though, I didn't expect it to happen in February! A Valentine's surprise I guess. So it this is happening, it won't be long before the other early spring bulbs burst forth with all their beauty. The Orioles were here for nearly three weeks also, but have moved on I believe, as I haven't seen them for the last four days. I'm watching for our Bluebirds to return now. By the way.....Not a good picture of the Quince above, but it will give you an idea of the beautiful vibrant color.</p><p> Now here's a picture below of my finished, but not framed "Token of Love" piece. It was a quick piece to stitch and I found it very enjoyable.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEily2qDCYhV7D5SrUoX26XM5Uxir7Mj5Vzmu16cTPF5vUejGaT8fi3oyIv8V13eYhKuDwwDnEjjWRgXGRrScCPOvMCoGX7eFKcrdp5LH9JOzFjg3E6UkydUw8Ds82EVig_GZA0tsHXTNxc_qlwyCFvP2X1CnX8ZNylPFiyGnzF0tO8OBU1GWwogvmRj=s1600" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEily2qDCYhV7D5SrUoX26XM5Uxir7Mj5Vzmu16cTPF5vUejGaT8fi3oyIv8V13eYhKuDwwDnEjjWRgXGRrScCPOvMCoGX7eFKcrdp5LH9JOzFjg3E6UkydUw8Ds82EVig_GZA0tsHXTNxc_qlwyCFvP2X1CnX8ZNylPFiyGnzF0tO8OBU1GWwogvmRj=s320" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p> Each year for Valentine's Day, I like to stitch another piece for Billy. So once I got the "Token of Love" framed, I got my Valentine's display all set up, with this newest piece. Unlike the other pieces, this one won't be packed away until next year. It will be hung in our bedroom. I love the frame job on it.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgSe8rrkXeR0P6jMlBytyyEEkyvpJAzLbigF50Jy4CQN2ZXorHNjsDzF4Kp5z-O9Y4MEqQJ8pPriPGp0a8FgOUH0u4MfmnCI55q7FVYhYogWnEySpIFrLtcdc-GIiGNdaAPUKlSGrp3UL0J3Xn5jao88FDXGK2J7CZ6izPzP-bUGuevLMXQ3HEf5Rub=s1280" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="1280" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgSe8rrkXeR0P6jMlBytyyEEkyvpJAzLbigF50Jy4CQN2ZXorHNjsDzF4Kp5z-O9Y4MEqQJ8pPriPGp0a8FgOUH0u4MfmnCI55q7FVYhYogWnEySpIFrLtcdc-GIiGNdaAPUKlSGrp3UL0J3Xn5jao88FDXGK2J7CZ6izPzP-bUGuevLMXQ3HEf5Rub=w400-h300" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p> Well, today, I spent more time in my she shed. Found some flower buttons I had been looking for and picked out a couple of charts that I'll be putting into my stitching rotation project. I have finished two that were in the group, so I feel good about adding one at this time to start when it comes around to its turn. I'm still loving the way this is going. Getting pieces done that I haven't touched in so very long, and enjoying working on them again. I work on each piece anywhere from three days to a week before I move on to the next.</p><p> I know I have mentioned many times here, that I just can't seen to find the energy to do the things that I need to, or at times, even want to do. So I do have to say, that I started writing a list each evening of things that I wanted to do the next day. Housework things I'm talking about! Anyway! I am finding that after my hour of stitching each morning, I then begin the chores on my list. If I do just what's on the list, I find that I'm usually done before noon. I feel each day that I've accomplished so much, and there has been many days that I have just kept going! How's this for progress? When I sit down in the afternoon now, I don't feel like I'm shirking any responsibilities. What a difference this has made!</p><p> Speaking of spring! Oh! Back to that! LOL. I realize that this is the time of year to cut back all the Crepe Myrtles. Gosh I hate to do this, but I really need to, so they'll fill out and bloom more. Then there will be the cleaning out and weeding all the little garden areas in the yard. I do love working outside, and in this area, there are so many things that need to be done early in the warmer season ahead. Before we know it, it will be in the nineties and the humidity will be too high for comfort. So we need to get out and enjoy it while we can.</p><p> Aha! Another thing I need to show you! Way back when...........I was working on "Spring Renewal". Well here's the finish. Not framed, but all the stitching done and the little flower by the birdhouse mounted. So happy about this. Now to get if framed and to put all the skeins of floss away that was used to do it!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgeLcdD9dnTX1KG35V9M8yj3pilI7q_6jnDn6keO98LRtzxuAqGgeBL7K-K2bBCng5fFpgPUYyzRZVIJUEChonmPrLjyCcBmWdqq_hHnYTdiTjHFqg6QlJk_LQv3SXz3gRafkNKnk4e7qZRxaO_OKKkPQsz8l_txdZF2YjNSV73BVDvBMF0J_TZPuXr=s1280" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="1280" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgeLcdD9dnTX1KG35V9M8yj3pilI7q_6jnDn6keO98LRtzxuAqGgeBL7K-K2bBCng5fFpgPUYyzRZVIJUEChonmPrLjyCcBmWdqq_hHnYTdiTjHFqg6QlJk_LQv3SXz3gRafkNKnk4e7qZRxaO_OKKkPQsz8l_txdZF2YjNSV73BVDvBMF0J_TZPuXr=w400-h300" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p> Well now! I've had a double skein of yarn sitting to the right of my stitching chair, for the longest time. Beautiful bright colors. Was eyeing it again the other night and got to thinking about watching my kids play football years ago. Of course it was in the fall, and so often, very cold sitting outside on those bleachers. Some of us mom's would bring an afghan we were knitting to work on and keep us warm at the same time. Maybe what got me thinking about all that, was the fact that we've had some chilly weather. Long story short now! Here's what I have done so far, and I like it so much, that I just may pick up another double skein of the same yarn and make it a decent size.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgPf4uTZegRxQMHEkv0h6S4EO-Re02IJjbpV_LX2Q_zgn5dUm93WMgvFjRK9hnwWwB2UhcTO_yfqhl5fonXY1-HwoKiohhOJPKINNBgSB_OIzEoKLA7dyzJUZb0uvkHPs6kUer18dPtmcrCHrHnTM54ZaVtBv4AEBjWLVJR2ls0JoQUHHEti_ho6qIj=s2048" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgPf4uTZegRxQMHEkv0h6S4EO-Re02IJjbpV_LX2Q_zgn5dUm93WMgvFjRK9hnwWwB2UhcTO_yfqhl5fonXY1-HwoKiohhOJPKINNBgSB_OIzEoKLA7dyzJUZb0uvkHPs6kUer18dPtmcrCHrHnTM54ZaVtBv4AEBjWLVJR2ls0JoQUHHEti_ho6qIj=w400-h300" width="400" /></a></div>With this big winter storm coming across the states and then heading up the eastern coast, I pray that you're all warm, and safe inside. Here we are in a whole new year. A whole year to recoup from last years COVID and all the different strains of it. Then you have the flus and the colds. I wish and pray you all well and that you're gaining your strength back. I hope also, at this time, that you are all warm and safe.</p><p> I'm pretty excited about this new year and the cross stitching I have in front of me. First though, I did finish the Colorful Flower piece and gifted it to a dear friend in NH. I really enjoyed the stitch and wish I had taken a picture of it all framed up before I sent it off. This is it below though.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg3-mKsa9vRq9xtoHtsoeie7aY7MZJSG_vPHVkA1aX4vBNK11lYByBbquFrLkyACQz4hn2XgYdg6FiLhhdV2a5c2A2TFVQ9m-DM80G1GDMPxAqJaVpXjGbLVUIgj2gjWyQPqh9Z29DWTEs0zPLgPBK3kSQuQz65-RP2wl4B_CSBfELA5zn4GZc8jwZw=s1024" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="768" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg3-mKsa9vRq9xtoHtsoeie7aY7MZJSG_vPHVkA1aX4vBNK11lYByBbquFrLkyACQz4hn2XgYdg6FiLhhdV2a5c2A2TFVQ9m-DM80G1GDMPxAqJaVpXjGbLVUIgj2gjWyQPqh9Z29DWTEs0zPLgPBK3kSQuQz65-RP2wl4B_CSBfELA5zn4GZc8jwZw=w300-h400" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This week I'm working on "Grey Alien". Just not a lot of difference between many of the colors. The stitch just seemed to drag along and I started to get bored. If it were for myself, I probably would have just put it away. It's a gift though and little by little, Grey started to look like something. <div> I did say, "This week", and what I mean by this, is that I have taken my eight unfinished pieces, "WIPs" and have started a rotation plan. I'm really enjoying the way I'm doing it. Oh My!<p> I do pray that this post finds you all well! I've been absent for a few weeks, but everyone and everything is well. Billy and I got our COVID boosters a couple of weeks ago, and in a couple more weeks, I'll get my flu shot. We have been so blessed with good health. Not a sniffle even! </p><p> Our warm weather is now gone and I don't think we'll see any come back this way until March. We have had to turn the heat on and even fire up the wood stove due to temperatures in the low 40's in the mornings. Us southerners can't take much cold you know, and when temperatures get down close to the mid 50's, we're looking for sweaters. That's not saying that we miss the hot and humid weather we had all summer now.</p><p> I can't believe that it's time for Christmas shopping! Other than gifts for the little ones this year, I believe we will be looking forward to a nice dinner at home. Grocery prices have gone sky high in this area. I saw a three pound chuck roast the other day at over $24.00. One of the cheapest cuts of beef and only tender when cooked for quite a while. I couldn't believe it! We got a notice the other day that our auto insurance is going up another $200. I would hate to think what it would go up if we had a claim of any kind. Anyway! We'll be going to Christmas eve service at our church and look forward to celebrating the birth of Christ. Then spending Christmas day here at home in a warm and cozy house.</p><p> We had to have our sweet Riley put to sleep. He was sixteen and we got him as a pup from a rescue mission, He was a wonderful friend, companion and sweet boy for a long time. We could see though, that he had started to fail a couple of years back. We knew he was hurting, and knew that his hind quarters were giving him lots of trouble. Though he had no particular medical problems, he was going blind and deaf as well. Slowing way down, and sleeping a good part of the day and night. After talking with the vet., we knew that he would start to experience more difficulties as time went on. He was a beautiful boy with love in his eyes.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5ucGVrP0_bU/YYafPYQz-2I/AAAAAAAADos/ZgA3YluKIdwCoubZ30b_zSZnBNTu3pH9QCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/riley%2Bbegging%2B1.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5ucGVrP0_bU/YYafPYQz-2I/AAAAAAAADos/ZgA3YluKIdwCoubZ30b_zSZnBNTu3pH9QCLcBGAsYHQ/w400-h300/riley%2Bbegging%2B1.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p> To my surprise, after I went through all my stash, I found that I only have a total of eight WIPs! So what I have done, is lined them up in a wooden crate right beside my stitchy chair. As soon as my "Colorful Flower" is finished, I will work with a rotation plan. It looks like a week on each piece at a time, and once a week is up on one piece, it will go in the back of the pile. I just want to finish what I've started so much. I have to be honest here, and it may sound funny, but one of my WIPs is over twenty years old! My goodness!</p><p> He is my "Colorful Flower" as of this morning. Got a couple of hours in, and all the petals are filled in except for the hi-lights. I'm really enjoying this piece.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DjzeKRYejJY/YYahVCIX1nI/AAAAAAAADo0/Ncl30hhvyZsAe4r6tVpMzMpcX136B2mgACLcBGAsYHQ/s1024/petels%2Bdone.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="768" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DjzeKRYejJY/YYahVCIX1nI/AAAAAAAADo0/Ncl30hhvyZsAe4r6tVpMzMpcX136B2mgACLcBGAsYHQ/w300-h400/petels%2Bdone.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p> The alien is still the same. I started this flower and stopped the stitching on him for the time being. He is first in line in the rotation program though. The plan is to work on each piece for one week before going to the next.</p><p> Once again. I do hope you are all well, and looking forward to a family Thanksgiving. Enjoying the milder temperatures as well, and stitching with all kinds of beautiful colors! Love you all, and don't forget to "Feel the Colors".</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8k5lA1U9dJs/YYamt43RpRI/AAAAAAAADo8/3sqfu2oj_88rB2GxYP0iqfPMgPf0QdzigCLcBGAsYHQ/s697/fall%2Bfoll.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="697" data-original-width="462" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8k5lA1U9dJs/YYamt43RpRI/AAAAAAAADo8/3sqfu2oj_88rB2GxYP0iqfPMgPf0QdzigCLcBGAsYHQ/w265-h400/fall%2Bfoll.jpg" width="265" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p>LindaLeehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17728347416196295679noreply@blogger.com9
