This that you're about to read below, is a post that I put on Facebook yesterday, but, guess what! The same applies to today!
I am feeling so good this morning. I usually make a list out every morning of the things I have to do during the day. You know. Do laundry. Clean bathrooms. Straighten cupboards. Clean fridge. You get the idea. Anyway! I am so far ahead of the game today! I didn't have to make out a new list, as I didn't accomplish anything on yesterday's list! So..........Time saved! Yes! I'm ahead this morning!
Now how I got to be this old and lazy is beyond me, but I hate the fact that I don't seem to have the energy that I once had, and I miss that. Stamina is something that I cannot even remember how it was when I had it. Seems I pick here. Pick there. Move this. Move that and can't really say at the end of any given day, that I feel good about what I accomplished. I'm going to continue trying though.
Now for our Mockingbirds! She has been so faithful keeping those four tiny eggs warm. It seemed that she didn't leave the nest for days. The daddy would come with food to keep her happy. I was able to get a couple of pictures, as you can see below. Believe me when I say that the parents weren't at all happy with me! They would fly at me from behind and close enough to slap me with a wing, several times. As soon as I got down and inside though, they were right back checking on their babies. Gosh I love watching birds. Not too much to keep themselves warm yet, and barely old enough to pick their little heads up. When they heard me, or felt the branches move a little, a couple of them popped their heads
right up though and opened wide. In the next day or so, I'll be checking the Bluebirds once again.
I checked them several days ago and saw the mom feeding the babes the other day. So now would be a good time to get a photo. They're much more cordial than the Mockingbirds for sure!
I posted a picture of this piece before the new year, and here I am, finally leaving it off yesterday to get framed. This is one of my cousin's favorite verses, and that's who this will be going to. I enjoyed the stitch so much. Will post it again, once matted and framed. Dang! That stuff is expensive indeed!
Have been moving along on my pines, and have about a half hour to finish up the first page. This is actually a fast stitch. I just have to keep it in one hand and a needle and thread in the other!
After many days of rain, we have had three very sunny and breezy days so far. Oh my goodness. It feels so very good to be able to be back outside for a bit here and there. Yesterday, I got a few pictures of some of my flowers in bloom. Here's what I call, Mexican Hat flowers. I love how fresh and strong they always look. Very straight and tall and bold!
Then there is one of the Lantana which I love. I have about a half dozen of these plants in all different colors. This is one of my newer ones, and I can't believe how fast it's growing. The Butterflies love these! The Hummingbirds do as well.
My Tweedia. I love the blue here.
The black and purple petunias.
Now I need to let you go. I hope this finds you all well and again...........staying safe. The cases are rising and now there is a new strain which I feel will head our way as well. Our lives are worth more than a dinner out. We have to show some stamina! Oh no! There's that word again! Anyway. Be safe. Keep those hands busy and minds working, and this too shall pass. Love you all my dear friends.
To remind you once again to "feel the colors". I think I would have to walk up and down several times!
