A Beautiful Tuesday

It was a beautiful sunny day all day, and the slight cooling breeze made it a perfect day to walk.  We found several young men fishing together from the shore down at the Slocum.  Catching lots of Bream today.  I've never known anything about this fish, but heard today how sweet they are to eat.  After looking them up, I see that they're a lot like Sunfish.

This post here today will be a lot about the gardening and all that I've been busy doing.  I have done only a couple of hours of my cross stitching and a picture won't show you much difference since the last one for sure.  As much as I love my stitching, I can actually say that my time has been well spent.  The first weeding of the season is always the hardest.  Always takes the longest of course, but you feel good once they're gone and you can see what is really coming up.

One of the first things I noticed yesterday afternoon, was the fruit I have forming on my two Dwarf Mulberry trees.  This is their third season, so I was keeping my fingers crossed.  The first and only time I have ever had Mulberries, and they were on the tree as I picked and ate a good bunch of them, was several years ago at the Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse, Pennsylvania.  There was a small farmer's market there that day, and a huge Mulberry Tree.  Delicious! So I'm looking forward to having some of my own this year.

I love native wildflowers in my gardens.  The seeds are good for the birds and the honey is great for the bees and the Hummingbirds as well.  I dug up this bunch of Daisy's about three weeks ago, and put them in by my she shed.  They never had to adjust to their new home! Still blooming up a storm and so bright looking.  This is a small area beside by shed where I'm starting a wildflower garden.  You can see that I haven't even turned the soil over yet.  Soon though.  Soon.  A closer picture would have been nice.

Just yesterday, our best friend, Dave and I went and got some of these below.  Another wildflower from this area of North Carolina.  They're a type of Cottonaster.  Will get these put in tomorrow.
I thank you again Dave for digging for me! Just look how bright they are.  They will multiply over the coming years.

Here's a pretty little vase full as well.

The Egyptian Onions always come up! We've given so many of these away over the years and haven't known anyone that didn't have good luck with them  I'll use a couple of the tiny onions with canned tuna for sandwiches.  I use the green stems as I would chives.

I'll show you more as the season goes on, but enough for now as far as the garden goes.

I do have to show you this pillow.  I saw it several months ago when I was planning on a shed, and ordered two of them.  You know me and colors! Hey! "If you love them, you can feel them!" I have two chairs all brightened up with this dreamy pillow.

Well I must let you go.  I'll do a little stitching this evening and a little more tomorrow before I get busy back out in the yard.
I do hope that this finds you all my sweet friends and followers doing well.  Staying safe and all.  I'm afraid that this lockdown will be lasting for quite a long time to come.  Now is the time to look into your other interests besides your stitching.  I mean, I could stitch forever and a day, and I'm sure many can, but we all certainly have the time right now to find other ways to be creative.  Show me some my dear followers! I love to learn new things, and especially when it comes to needlework and crafts.

Love to you all, and don't forget to "feel those colors."
