All the years we lived in New Hampshire, I would look forward to the first day that I could open my doors and actually smell the aroma of fresh earth. Billy and I both love to garden and to be able to smell this, would mean that it wouldn't be too long before we could look forward to our perennials again. In NH, this day wouldn't come about, some years, until some time in late April or early May even! There were also times, when, because of the long winters up there, that we would stop at local nurseries just be feel the warmth and humidity that it took to grow plants. Memories........Happy memories. We all have them. I pray that each one of my followers and friends here, can look back today and grab at least one happy March memory. Leave a message if you would please and tell us about those memories. It's a beautiful day here this morning. Billy and I walked to our assigned voting place and back. A perfect morning for the walk. My beautiful daughter-in-law would call this "a Bluebird Day"
Speaking of spring! I've been stitching up a storm on my "Spring Renewal" piece, and I'm happy to say that the little village buildings are completed! All windows reflecting the light from the sun and all! I think of the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child" at this moment! I have even started a little with two different greens that depict shrubbery in front of one of the houses. We stitchers are so blessed to love this hobby. The colors alone bring me joy! Then there are the hours that bring me peace and relaxation. This is where I am thus far.
One of my followers. Robin, was kind enough to send me some information on "needle parking" to help me when working on this piece. Thank you so much Robin. I so appreciate this information. You can find the info. here http://www.abbiessewingandstuff.com/search?q=needle+park
Also, don't forget to stop in and see Robin at her blog at http://stitchingfriendsforever2.blogspot.com/ A great blog that I've enjoyed for a long time.
We're headed out today after lunch to pick up some insulation for my she shed. I am determined to get this shed up and running by the first of April. The shed is equipped with all the electricity and outlets that I will need. This includes outlets in my two lofts as well. After the insulation will come the walls which will go up quickly, and it will be complete! It's only a ten by twelve foot building, but it's large enough to make my own little nook where I can bring out projects and leave them until I'm finished. Just for the record though, I am perfectly happy with my little area where I do my stitching at this time. It's inside our house and is a den room. Very comfortable, but hey, if guys can have a shed, we can as well! LOL. I'm looking forward to many hours of stitching of all kinds out there, as well as reading and just relaxing! Lots of windows also to let in the natural light and to watch my bird and butterfly garden area.
Oh! One last thing before I let y'all go again...You probably won't be surprised at this if you know me at all. I caved again! Just look at the colors in this piece below! How could I just ignore it when I saw it I wonder! Again, as I have said many times before. For sometime in the future. Something fun and not too large, but very colorful to stitch up. It looks so bright and cheerful!
I don also want y'all to remember to keep Nashville in prayer. What a terrible and scary thing to have happen. A huge tornado with lives lost and many injured. Comfort them Father, and heal the injured.
Will let you go for now. Nearly time for dinner fixing here. You take care. Stay safe and well. I'll be back soon. Love every one of you. Remember to "feel the colors".
Great work on your WIP. Enjoy fixing up your she shed. It's a lot of work but so worth it in the end. Love your new happy piece. I don't blame you for falling for it. Yes the photos of Nashville are so sad. Tornadoes are horrible.
ReplyDeleteHowdy Katie. Glad we got the email thing worked out! I just can't imagine living in a tornado area! So much destruction. You take care.
DeletePrecioso su nuevo trabajo y precioso el de Ycoba. Buen día:-)
ReplyDeleteHello Rosa. So good to have you back here. The teeny tiny things that you make continue to amaze me. You're so talented. Chata! What a sweet little puppy. She keeps you busy indeed.
DeleteYou have made good progress on your Village WIP, LindaLee. Looking forward to seeing your finished she-shed! I know you will find many hours of enjoyment out there. Have been praying for the entire area of Nashville since learning about it!
ReplyDeleteSometimes March would bring spring break (sometimes, it came in April) and having the time off from school which usually coincided with visits from my Gram and Grandpa. Always good to have them around plus we could go places during the week (we were a one car family for years).
Hello my sweet friend. I have so many wonderful memories of my grandparents also. Only wish we could keep these special people forever.
ReplyDeleteMarch is always the Italian dinner with the youth group at church, DH and the boys always help out and this year I helped out a little too. They always have fun while they're there and enjoy doing it.
ReplyDeleteYour village is looking great with the windows added, bring on the greenery!
I hope we get to see your finished she shed, what fun that will be to stitch in there.
What a sweet kitty piece, of course you had to get it!
And yes, prayers for Nashville, I can't imagine what they're going through, now with the clean-up.
