So, I must say, that yesterday, I got up and jumped in with both feet. Took me all day but dang it, I got a whole room cleaned from top to bottom. I won't tell you how bad it was before, but once Bill sat down in the afternoon in there, his first words to me was, "Gosh! Everything sounds so loud in here." LOL.....I had moved a lot of my needlework "stash" out of the room as it's going into my shed! Now comes today, and I can already tell that there's a little black dog that lives here with us! Gosh I love that little guy!
I've been stitching my WIP and am just finishing the two little bunnies in the lower left side of the piece. I'm in the habit of doing the white first before I fill in the stitches around it. I hate it when the white picks up some of the other colors. Red is the worst to stain the white. So the two little bunnies are done, and I'll do some more grassy areas and trees in the back ground tomorrow.
I did start another scarf for Christmas giving this year. Switched to my standby pattern which works up quickly and looks nice with nearly any yarn. I love greens so this one will be touch for me to gift, but I'm a determined old gal, and want to fill by giving box full early this year! Look at the colors in this!
Out on my walk today, which was about three miles actually, and done quite leisurely, I took more pictures. I found this Magnolia seed pod. This is about four inches long and you wouldn't think that something this ugly,
could turn into something this beautiful! Plus! They smell delicious!
It was another Bluebird day. Just mild and sunny. As it is everywhere I imagine. For a Saturday, there were very few cars. Very few people outside along our route, but wild flowers are everywhere.
I should have taken some closer pictures! The Wisteria is also starting to bloom and I'll be taking some pictures of them soon. They're one of my favorites here in NC, and they grow wild. Another flower with a sweet aroma!
Well, I need to get ready for bed here. It's later than what I thought and though there won't be any church services tomorrow, due to the Coronavirus, I like getting up nice and early.
I do pray that all of you are doing well. Be careful and stay well. I love you all, and until I'm back, remember to "feel the colors."
A lovely mother/son picture. My eldest celebrates his birthday today which is also Mothering Sunday here in the UK. We will have a facetime chat later, not quite the same as giving him a (big hug) but thankful technology allows me to see him.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mothering Sunday Julie, and a happy birthday to your son. It's hard having to distance ourselves from our loved ones for sure, but have to do it in hopes that it keeps us all well. I didn't realize that my son had this picture, and was surprised to see in on FaceBook. You stay safe my friend, and stay well.
DeleteLovely Mother and Son photo...you are a very youthful 74! I love the texture of the seed pod!! Looking forward to flowers blooming here soon. The daffodils are about 1/2 way out of the ground...that is my first sign of Spring for sure!! Be well. Mary & RJ
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping in Mary and for the sweet compliment. You said that I was a youthful 74, and if so, I think it just has to do with my outlook on life and the love of colors that I have! Our Daffodils have come and gone but the beautiful Azaleas and the wild Wisteria are now in bloom! God is so good. You stay well my sweet friend.
DeleteLindaLee: Happy Birthday. that is a very sweet photo.
