Keeping Busy

Good morning all my dear friends! Staying well and safe I pray.  The virus here in NC is hitting hard.  It doesn't surprise me with restaurants and other business opening back up.  I see less and less people when we go to pick up a few groceries, wearing masks.  When it will go away, no one knows, but in the meantime, we have to keep our health in mind above all.  So stay safe!
I believe all my new plants are finally in, and they all seem to be looking good.  This picture below is not mine.  Got it from Pinterest, but wanted to show how pretty and bright the flowers are on these plants.  They come in all colors also, and the Monarchs lay their eggs on them.  Of course, as

soon as I start putting flowers in, the rain stops, and no we're waiting for more.  Looking forward actually to the thunder storms we get this time of year.  Billy and I both enjoy sitting out on our back porch and watching all the excitement that comes with the storms.  It will usually cool the air some as well.
The Mockingbird nest, at this point is doing well.  No babies yet, but I'm keeping an eye out for them to arrive.  We realized yesterday though, that in our overgrown garden in the front of the house, there a cat from the neighborhood relaxes..........With the nest in the small tree just feet away, this sounds like trouble to me.  This is a big sturdy black and white cat, that was abandon when the owners moved away.  Very friendly and I love it, but I love my birds also.  So today, I start cleaning out the said garden, so the birds can at least see this little fir baby lurking there.
Want to show you a picture of the Mimosa trees that are in bloom here.  I love these threes and the flowers always make me think of little ballerinas! This is from our walk the other day.  These trees

are considered a nuisance as they grow so easily, and quite large in this area.  They aren't a native tree and they drop lots of seed pods with lots of seeds inside.  I still love them though!
I picked up a cross stitching a couple of nights ago, and worked on my trees for a little bit.  I'll show you the piece again in a day or two.  I'm enjoying it.
Getting a small box ready to send to NH, and decided that since my beautiful daughter-in-law Lisa likes my knitted dish cloths, I would knit up some for her to stuff in the box.  So with one finished and another half done, I've been knitting.  Want to make a third for her before I send the box, and these cloths work up in just a few hours.  I go for the simple ones!

The shed is coming along real well, and the wood, "from an old fence" was brought to me yesterday, by our good friend Dave.  This came from his home and from the fence that was ruined during the last hurricane here.  It's going to be perfect inside the shed.  It's just what I've been looking for! I'm looking forward to sharing some pictures of my shed and they'll be posted soon.

Going to let you all go once again.  Thank you all for the visits and the comments.  I've been slow on commenting back lately, and I'm sorry for that.  I need to pick up my pace in so many areas.  I do love and appreciate you all.  Again..........Stay safe!
Until next time, take time and "feel the colors"

  6. LindaLee: The Mimosa plants are lovely.
I think if you put some Vicks around the area of the birds the cat will stay away, but hey some cats like strange smells, it worth a try.
Mask are not a requirement here only if you want, over 80% of the people dying from the virus are people who live in nursing homes, sounds like euthanasia to me just sayin.
I hope you share how much your have stitched on the trees soon, I like seeing what other bloggers are doing.

  7. Those Mimosa trees are so cute! I went out this week too and was surprised at the number of people without masks. Since our state opened back up the number of cases has risen considerably and the ICU is now at 75% capacity. Makes me sad and mad! People should just THINK! Have a great week!
