A Good Morning!

     Yes! A good morning to all.  It's overcast this morning and we're expecting rain, but there is a marvelous breeze coming right through my sewing/den room, and it feels so good.  I pray that your week is going well.  That you're staying safe and that you're all healthy.  Speaking of breeze! They're talking about stocking up and what to do during hurricane season! It doesn't officially start until June first! Now, I know I've been losing track of my days during this pandemic...............but....................a whole month is ridiculous! 😲

     I have been away from my postings for a couple of days, and I'm certainly sorry about that.  I've been here, but have been trying to work outside in the little garden areas some.  Cleaned out one of them yesterday.  I have another little garden with a wild grape growing.  It was put in about three years ago, and it's about time to put an arbor of some type in.  It's looking good and strong, so we'll see what we can do with it.  I picked up eight little Butterfly Weed plants, "aclepias tuberosa" over the weekend, and will be getting those put in after this rain stops today.  I had the Monarchs laying eggs on just the three or so that I had growing last summer, and I want to make sure that they have plenty more this year.  I have always had the orange ones as shown below, but the grower of the plants I have now, said that some are orange, and some are yellow, and others are red....So surprise, surprise!

          Just look at these that I've been seeing on our walks.  Such a pretty flower, and I found out that they're from a flowering Poplar tree.  Sometimes this tree is called a Tulip tree.  I would love to have one of them in my yard indeed.

Even pretty on the outside with the way the orange fades and the green oozes in.

   
          I've been getting in my hour each day for my stitching.  I'm getting closer to finishing up my spring piece, and can't believe that I'm this far.  Started the flower filled wheelbarrow.  Back to just a few stitches each of a number of colors, but I don't mind at this point as I have so much done.

     Three seasons ago, my beautiful daughter-in-law, Lisa, sent me some roots from a wild rose that they have growing in the yard.  I was able to divide the roots into three separate plants.  The first season I didn't have even a bud, but I kind of expected that.  You know how plants need a season to adjust and strengthen their roots and all.  Last year, I was surprised with one and only one blossom.  Now this year, I happened to see that this is loaded with buds and blossoms.  The bush is beautiful and the aroma is heavenly.  Thank you so much my sweet angel, Lisa.

          We went out yesterday for very few groceries, and I couldn't resist this Petunia! I thought it was sooooo pretty! Not everyone's choice of a potted plant I'm sure, and that's okay!

     A new picture of my little boy, Guthrie.  He has turned out to be a good little boy.  Very loving and full of snips and snails with one puppy dog tail thrown in!

     Last for today, is that I was looking through Dureen Jones free charts and I always find things I like there.  I love her use of color and the charts are so easy to follow.  I noticed this free chart for an autumn book mark, and thought it would be a quick stitch that would make a nice gift for a reader friend.  Here it is below, and I'll also put it on my freebies page as well.  If you aren't familiar with Dureen's charts, please go to one of her pages and check them out.  Here's one,
