Rainy Day Stitching

Before you read my post for today, below, please know that another great giveaway is going on over at    http://victorianmottosamplershoppe.blogspot.com/  Beautiful threads, fabric and more.  Please check it out.

                                                   Rainy Day Stitching
Nothing like it! We did get out for our walk today,  It was a chilly 50 degrees and drizzly, but we cut it a bit short.  After that, I decided that it was a perfect day to stay in, and to just stitch! I'm happy to say that I did just that.  Since all the little houses and birdhouses were stitched on my WIP, I decided that I would stick with the deep brown and do some outlining.  Now I know that there are many who love the cross stitching but hate to do the backstitching.  I have always loved both.  I love the way the outlining makes so much pop on the piece.  The colors just seem to jump out along with all the different shapes of things.  Here's a before and an after picture, showing what a difference it makes.

And one more close up of the birdhouses.  The taller house looks a little wonky, as the fabric isn't ironed yet.  I'm just so loving this stitch!

Well North Carolina has joined the many other states that are closing businesses and all during the coronavirus outbreak.  No visiting nursing homes.  Restaurants to close today at five and only serve food through the takeout windows or home deliveries.  I'm keeping all in prayer.  This will devastate the population in so many ways.  We're washing hands and everything as we've always done, plus I'm cleaning door knobs and cell phones every day.  Mail box handles as well.  None of us can be too cautious.

I ordered a chart from Casa Canina, and when it came, it was the wrong one.  The one they sent was the "Ice Queen".  To correct the mistake, they have had me keep the "Ice Queen" and they sent the one I did order to replace it.  What this all boils down to is that I have the "Ice Queen" chart to give away.  It should be a beautiful piece, but not my style.  If any of you would like it, please email me at MissLindaLee@ec.rr.com, and please include your full name and address.  Here's a picture of the piece.  Want to add that the chart is large print and is very clear.  So let me know if you're interested.  This is 300 st. by 300 st.

I think I'm going to cut this post short.  This chilly and rainy day has put me in such a relaxed mode, that I'm thinking of heading to bed pretty quick here.  By the way..........It's only 6:10!

Y'all take care and stay well.  Happy St. Patricks Day.  Enjoy all the beautiful greens out there today!  Love you all.

Love! Love! Love you all!

  8. It definitely makes a difference when you add the back stitching! When I started stitching, everything was back stitched and now sometimes it seems strange not to.
