Valentine's Day Week

Hopefully, you all had a pleasant weekend, and I pray that this week will be full of nothing but good things and lots of colors.  Valentine's Day this week and lots of people are talking about sweetheart dinners and dates and all.  We have one also come Friday noon.

Speaking of Valentine's Day! I received a surprise package yesterday and was overjoyed when I opened it! I love surprise things, and this came for me! How pretty and beautiful handwork.  The little casing for it is also handmade.  This isn't all though!

This was also in the package! A pair of rosetone scissors that fold up and fit right into the palm of my hand.  Nice size to put in my project bag while traveling! Look at the pretty second pillow cover also.  So pretty with all the different colored butterflies! I'll be stitching up something special to fill it!
I never know whether to mention names or not.  Don't want to embarrass anyone, but I really need to thank, Marilyn for the lovely surprise gifts. How sweet to think of this little old lady!

I'm enjoying a little time to get a little more done on my two stitching projects.  Still can't believe how slow my spring piece is going, and I keep having to tell myself that with all the tiny areas with so many different colors, it really is not going to zip right along.  Another house or two on it and I'll be doing some back stitching before I go any further.

Then there is the blackwork that I'm doing.  This piece is relaxing after working on the big piece, and I don't feel a need to hurry with it.  A new chart comes out one a week to continue the stitch for all of 52 weeks.

Our little Guthrie, came through his surgery with flying colors.  Even though it was more invasive than usual, with one testical that hadn't even begun to drop into place.  A little sore the first day, but acted like everything was cool after that.  All the stitches are out and he's a happy little boy.

I see that there are lots of blossoms on our one blueberry bush, and other shrubs and small trees are also started to bud.  Spring is again right around the corner here in NC, and I'm looking forward to spending a little time outside cleaning up the little garden areas we have.

One last thing! I found this freebie online last night.  I didn't know at first, but found that Durene Jones is the designer.  I'm headed over to make sure that she doesn't mind if I share this.   I won't be sharing anything that looks like it was not meant to share here. If any of my dear friends and followers think that I am doing wrong with a chart, please let me know.  I'll remove it from my blog without any problem.  I did think this little bird was well worth coming to life for this coming spring.  Something not too big, but some pretty colors.  Enjoy the chart!

Well here it is nearly ten o'clock in the morning and I haven't gotten a move on yet! So I'm going to let y'all go for today.  You all take care.  Stay well and of course, be sure to "feel the colors" around you.  Love to every one of you!

  2. That is a lovely gift! And so nice to have another cover for a stitched piece too. That looks like a Durene Jones freebie from the tag on it. She does give some away on Facebook, so maybe should link to it instead of posting the chart? I'm not sure how all the rules work.

  3. Thank you so much Tiff. I have left her a message, and should be hearing from you. I see that there are many of hers are indeed freebees. I have asked her about posting others in the future as well, so we'll see. I did edit the post to give her the credit for it.
